The fields of application of this research concerns mostly issues related to geophysics, astrophysics and oceanography. Wave turbulence occurs in oceans, atmospheres, liquid cores of planets or in stars. The project will contribute to more accurate modelling of oceans, atmosphere and the coupling between the two, for instance for wave forecast or climate predictions. Wave turbulence can also be encountered in magnetized plasmas like ITER (energy by nuclear fusion) or in nonlinear optics such as propagation in fibers (data transfers).
